Why rocking and white noise
Rocking gently helps babies feel safe, calm and comforted. During pregnancy, babies spend months being soothed by the natural motion of their mother’s movements in the womb. Walking, shifting and everyday movements create a constant gentle rocking sensation that babies become familiar with before they are even born. After birth, this same rhythmic motion can help recreate that feeling of security and familiarity, which is why many babies naturally relax and fall asleep when they are gently rocked. The repetitive movement helps calm the nervous system, reduce fussiness and encourages babies to drift into a deeper, more restful sleep.
White noise also plays an important role in helping babies settle. Inside the womb, babies are surrounded by constant sound — the mother’s heartbeat, blood flow and internal body sounds create a steady, soothing background noise. White noise recreates a similar environment after birth, helping babies feel more secure and less aware of sudden noises around them. By masking disruptive sounds and providing a consistent calming tone, white noise helps babies relax, settle faster and stay asleep for longer.
Together, gentle rocking and soothing white noise create a calming environment that supports your baby’s natural sleep rhythms and helps bring more peaceful moments to both baby and parents.
We have been there
“Rockeroo was born from a familiar moment, a tired parent gently rocking a pram back and forth, hoping this time the baby would finally drift off.
Like so many parents, we discovered our little one would only sleep when the pram was moving. The second we stopped? Eyes wide open.
So we walked. And rocked. And paced. Over and over again.
We knew there had to be a better way.”
